THE government’s plan to implement e-invoicing from Aug 1 this year is a significant step in the digital transformation of the country’s business landscape.
However, the decision to mandate e-invoicing for enterprises with turnovers exceeding RM100mil from the outset highlights a fundamental flaw in the implementation strategy, particularly its potentially disproportionate burden on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
