Stop this cruel programme

THE Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has spoken out against the Shah Alam City Council’s plan to launch a stray dog hunt later this month (The Star, April 1; online at bit.ly/star_straykill).

Her Royal Highness has rightly called for a stop to the “catch and destroy” programme. How on earth did the council come up with this horrendous idea to deal with the city’s stray dogs problem? It’s mind boggling.
