Sri Sabah fire a wake-up call on need for proactive efforts

IT WAS fortunate that no lives were lost in the night fire that engulfed six low-cost flats in the Sri Sabah public housing project (PPR) in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday - thanks partly to the fire authorities and residents.

The Fire and Rescue Department’s response was swift, and despite low water pressure and other challenges, the firefighters soon brought the fire under control.
