Circular economy: Empty fruit bunches are used as mulch for young oil palm trees. Researchers in the country are known to be actively developing the technologies to convert wastes into useful products.

EFFICIENT management of wastes is a priority for every country that’s striving to achieve a balance between the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) they produce and the amount removed from the atmosphere (net zero).

Organic wastes are of particular concern as they are known to emit methane, a more potent GHG, if left untreated. And the most prevalent organic wastes are from agriculture.
