Need for more affordable education


FOR many SPM school leavers, especially those from B40 households, the Matriculation Programme offered by the Education Ministry could be their only way of furthering their studies.

This is because the cost of education is relatively lower in public universities compared to private institutions, and many parents therefore encourage their children to apply for the matriculation programme. Furthermore, graduates of the programme are almost always guaranteed a place in a public university.
