Help out fellow Malaysians

RECENTLY, I was in a clothes store in a mall in Johor Baru. Upon enquiring if they were offering any promotions, I was told there was a 10% discount for Singaporeans. It must be meant to attract tourists in general, but the salesgirl probably mentioned Singaporeans because she thought I was from across the Causeway.

But there was no discount for Malaysians. I was gob-smacked and felt the promotion carried a whiff of discrimination. I did not buy anything and left the store with a sour taste in my mouth.
