Institutional reforms that need to be done

INSTITUTIONAL reform in Malaysia is recognised by many quarters as a “must do” as opposed to “good to do” initiative.

Two main thrusts that need immediate rework to maintain credence in the integrity of our institutional framework are the re-examination and separation of the powers in the office of the Attorney General (AG), and the appointment/reporting line of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief.
