Thoughts on PM’s visit to Saudi Arabia


IN this new climate of openness in our country since last November, it is encouraging to see the critical comments about the prime minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia. It would appear that he went there primarily for his umrah.

It was not a state visit. State visits are made by heads of state and require much advance notice, meticulous planning and a detailed itinerary.
