A menu for trying times

PEOPLE all over the world are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of basic products and services in the current economic situation, which the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs has described as gloomy and uncertain for the near term.

In Malaysia, increase in the price of food has led to people tightening their belts. But the situation is being somewhat alleviated by the Menu Rahmah initiative, which was launched by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry on Jan 31 this year.
