AS the revised Supply Bill 2023 (Budget 2023) is being debated in Parliament, Agora Society calls on the government to focus on balanced regional development, social security and cost-of-living policy reforms in addition to economic growth.

(1) Balanced regional development: Given the uncertainty over the global economy and the pressures of inflation and rising interest rates, it is understandable that Budget 2023 focuses on economic growth plans and policies. The government has therefore allocated funds to high-impact projects in various sectors.
