I WENT back to my hometown, Tumpat, on the third day of Chinese New Year to visit my siblings and relatives. During my three-day stay there, I was a bit upset with the traffic lights. There are five traffic light junctions in my hometown but most of the time, the lights were out of order, or so I thought.
As it was a festive season, and coupled with the long holiday period, there were lots of balik kampung visitors as well as tourists in town, leading to a high volume of traffic on the road.
