STUDENTS in the middle 40% (M40) income group would have welcomed the government’s announcement that the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans for them will be increased from 75% to 100%.

The increase is one of the government’s initiatives to ease the financial burden of students at institutions of higher learning, especially those from the lowest tier of the M40 group. About 64,000 students are expected to benefit.
