Save two million people from dying due to smoking habits

THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) says MPs who will potentially vote against the long-awaited Tobacco and Smoking Control Bill as enemies of children and a future healthy generation.

There is no excuse for MPs not to support this Bill.

The Tobacco and Smoking Control Bill is a gift to the future generation.

There are over 20 countries which have banned vaping and e-cigarettes.

It will save billions of ringgit to our country.

CAP does not understand why some MPs are practising a wait-and-see attitude and some say it is an individual's right to smoke.

They must understand this is an addiction. There are many families who are suffering as family members spend half of their income on smoking and not for food.

If MPs don't support the Bill, we will see more people getting cancer and sick youths.

It is time for MPs to support the Bill and become friends of the future generation and not the enemies of future children.
