Please do not allow any more withdrawals

WHILE I understand the need for the government to allow the special RM10,000 EPF withdrawals as announced recently by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, I also feel sad knowing that people like me, who rely on EPF as our retirement and pension fund, will suffer another “shortfall” in terms of dividends due to this outflow of savings.

I have been depending on my dividends/principal for my day-to-day expenses since I retired. Believe me, once you get to my age, you will really appreciate your EPF savings. I worked really hard for more than 30 years to enjoy the fruits of my savings in EPF, so I feel cheated of the dividends I have lost. Politicians do not feel the pinch because they get government pensions. For once, they need to put themselves in our shoes.
