FOR those of us whose lives revolve around social media, we need to be aware of the dangers lurking below the surface of our seemingly harmless posts.

As my children are all well into their 30s, I don’t need to supervise their social media activities, but I am learning from my students now. In the process, I have been introduced to words that were never part of my vocabulary before, such as flaming, exclusion and outing. I am more familiar with words like harassment, cyberstalking and cyberbullying.
