Time to recognise a hero

TAN Sri JJ Raj Jr is a retired police commissioner and a hero of the epic defence of the Bukit Kepong police station against communist attack in 1950 when he was the OCPD in Pagoh, Johor. On July 27, he celebrated his 100th birthday.

The centenarian has an even longer backstory, as he has lived through World War II and two emergencies. Indeed, he has contributed much to the defence of the sovereignty of this country and nation-building.
