Let’s observe Earth Day with silence

THE year 2020 was a wonderful one for Mother Earth. With humans in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, less greenhouse gases were produced, rivers and seas were less polluted, and the waters ran clear. Wild animals that lived near human settlements came out to reclaim, at least temporarily, places that were once was theirs.

Sadly, as Earth Day approaches this year, humans are back at it again, spewing greenhouse gases, littering, discharging sewerage and pollutants into rivers and seas, and clearing forests and peat land.
