Added disruption to learning

WITH the current surge in demand for laptops and tablet computers, which are desperately needed by students for their online education, the Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) urges the government to take immediate measures to control the price of these devices.

The current rise in price of these devices is being attributed to shortage of stocks and an increase in logistic costs from the producing countries. It was reported that a branded affordable tablet that cost RM399 before the current movement control order (MCO 2.0) period is now priced at RM599, an increase of 25%!
