AMERICAN moral and social philosopher Eric Hoffer once said: “Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength.”

Recently, I saw a young cashier in a supermarket belonging to one of the major chains being yelled at by a couple in their 50s. They were unloading their trolley at the express lane, which was meant for customers with only 10 items to pay for.
