Higher BPR amount for senior singles

BUDGET 2021, called the biggest budget ever, has been primed to help the economy in the face of Covid-19 challenges. Given the financial constraints, this was possibly the best the government could do to prepare the country for 2021.

One aspect of the budget pertaining to BPR (Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat assistance package) for singles caught my attention: The amount provided for singles has been reduced to RM350 although the eligibility has been reduced from 40 to 21 years old. However, I feel that one group of people in the singles category has been overlooked: Single senior citizens, those who are widows, widowers or unmarried.
