MALAYSIA, it is opined, has evolved as a democracy in that not one party has a comfortable majority in Parliament. This state of affairs, however, underscores the political tension that ensues, with horse-trading being the norm.
But Malaysia can stand proud in the manner in which the vote of the common people is given due respect. When an election result shows defeat for the incumbent, there is acceptance of the will of the people.
