On Oct 23, the Cabinet of Malaysia agreed to consider a declaration of emergency as Covid-19 cases are rising rapidly around the country – which will allow the suspension of the Parliament and postponement of any elections, as well as empower the Federal Government to push through policies without the need for voting.
