CYBERCRIMINALS are attacking the computer networks and systems of individuals, businesses and global organisations at a time when their defences might be lower due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In Malaysia, since the movement control order (MCO) came into force on March 18, police opened 393 investigation papers (IPs) that amounted to losses of almost RM3mil in just one week. The cases involved online sales of face masks and fraudulent withdrawals of Employees Provident Fund savings.
