Combine efforts for effective rabies control

THE death of a 62-year-old man in Sarawak due to rabies is really sad, “Sarawak records second rabies death this year” (The Star, June 27). This brings the total number of rabies cases to 24, with 23 deaths, since the outbreak of the disease was declared on July 1,2017.

Obviously, the state’s rabies control and eradication programme has not been very successful.
