Eyes trained on Digital Dashboard

I READ with interest the report “Govt programmes under close watch” (The Star, June 17; online at https://bit.ly/37HkC8w), which stated that “The implementation of mega people-centred programmes such as the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package and the National Economic Revival Plan (Penjana), which are worth RM295bil altogether, will be strictly monitored.”My question is: “Shouldn’t monitoring be done on all projects regardless of their size or category?”

Many government projects were launched in the past. Some were successful but there are many others that remain unfinished and have since become eyesores. Among them is the project to upgrade the sewerage system at Pekan Tampin, Negri Sembilan. The signboard at the site states that the project is expected to be completed on July 2,2016. To date, however, it remains unfinished and looks like it has been abandoned. As a result, there are a lot of unfinished manholes at Pekan Tampin and along the main road (Jalan Tampin Gemas).
