Exemption or discount for hostel rent?

I AM currently a postgraduate student at a local university. I return-ed to my hometown just before the movement control order (MCO) was implemented in March.

When the MCO period was extended to April, I enquired about a rental discount from the hostel management but it was declined. Therefore, I have continued to pay full rent for my hostel room during the entire MCO period so far even though I was not living there.
