Mental care for frontliners

DR Lorna M. Breen, 49, was the medical director of the emergency department at the New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital in New York City who had treated many Covid-19 patients. Unfortunately, she contracted the virus herself, but subsequently recovered and returned to work. Then, overcome by stress and depression, she took her own life on April 26.

We have to be mindful that if this incident can happen in the United States, it can also happen here. Under no circumstances can we allow any of our healthcare providers to suffer a similar fate in Malaysia. God forbid!
