Enforcement more effective than harsh laws


MINISTER in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong disclosed at a press conference recently that the Cabinet wants to see fewer road deaths caused by reckless or intoxicated drivers.

He said the Cabinet has in principle agreed that the law on reckless driving and driving under the influence must be amended to impose heavier punishments, such as raising jail terms to 20 years.
