Be guided by the good intention principle

AS I sat through the second day of the National Forum on Achievements and Challenges: 10 years Post-ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities held on Dec 4 and 5, I reminisced about my own journey advocating for more to be done for persons with disabilities.

My son is 32 years old now, yet I am still hearing the same old issues being brought up, like education, healthcare, employment and the provision of disabled-friendly amenities. What is wrong? I see a big disconnect between persons needing the services and the decision-makers, namely the government agencies involved.
