THIS year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) finally put a name to a condition that generations of workers have struggled with: burnout. Do a quick Google search on how to tackle the “epidemic of our culture” and there are scores of listicles telling us to unplug, meditate, manage our time better, or make lifestyle changes.
But as well-founded and proven these self-care tips are at helping employees deal with stress better, they subdue the equal, if not greater, responsibility of employers to provide a supportive environment that fosters mental wellbeing.
