GLOBALISATION, internationalisation, drive for quality, expectations for new modes of teaching, ranking, growing importance of research and innovation within the economic development agenda and, above all, the difficult economic environment have prompted many reform processes in higher education in Malaysia. One of the processes being considered is the consolidation of higher education institutions (HEIs).
Deciding to consolidate is never easy, but it should be considered when there is a desire to significantly improve the quality of the institution and reap continuous benefits for its stakeholders.
