EVERYONE knows the PTPTN (National Higher Education Fund Corp) now after all the stories splashed in the media almost daily. Many sympathise with the fund’s difficulties in recovering study loan repayments.

The government took on massive borrowing to finance the scheme. Recent news reports suggest that the outstanding loan amount may have even exceeded what is owed in the 1MDB financial scandal case. And if repayments continue not to be paid, the amount will balloon in the coming years.
