I APPEAL to the government and PTPTN to consider reintroducing the discount scheme for borrowers. The previous government introduced the 10% discount if a payee uses the monthly auto debit system and a 20% discount if one settles his/her loan in one lump sum.
For someone with a monthly repayment of RM300 for a RM40,000 loan, the 10% auto debit discount was very helpful in reducing my burden. I could save RM30 per month, RM360 per year, and RM1,800 in five years.
