Restoring image as a progressive country


I AGREE with what Zainah Anwar said in her article “Court verdict shines light on the way forward” (Sunday Star, Feb 4) to the effect that the recent Federal Court decision on the M. Indira Gandhi case has given Malaysians hope that there is a bright future for our constitutional democracy.

Despite efforts from some groups to undermine the rule of law, our Constitution is alive and kicking, with the Federal Court judges standing tall to defend our fundamental liberties. In so doing, the judges have restored Malaysia’s image as a progressive country.
