THE sentence that Lawrence Nassar, former doctor of the United States national gymnastics team, received resonates strongly enough as a warning to all wicked people who demand loyalty for their so-called excellent standard of service. Having a whole panel of fellow members covering up or pleading ignorance to what should not have been concealed for so long, as members of the USA Gymnastics board did, is something to get everyone to look into their own “households”.
All departments in government and private enterprises, all educational institutes, all sports and entertainment centres and even homes where family members close one eye to the abuse out of embarrassment and shame, and maybe fear too, should be doing this now.
