Spoiling your vote is a dereliction of duty


A QUESTION needs to be asked of those who started the #UndiRosak (2018) petition. Are they registered voters? Voting in a general election is not merely a right but also an obligation for every citizen. Failing to do so (barring illness or reasons beyond control) is a dereliction of duty.

A citizen has the right not to vote. But in choosing to do so, the said citizen has lost the right to complain about the state of affairs in the country or the government of the day. But someone will still be elected.
