Don’t forfeit allowance for the disabled

I REFER to the article “Man loses welfare due to extra income” (The Star, Dec 18) about a disabled person who was forfeited his subsistence allowance from the Welfare Department. The reason given was that he earned a little extra through overtime and did not deserve the allowance.

I find this disconcerting and deferred writing anything until I felt that I had to voice the grievance of this gentleman and many others whose plight may not have been reported.
