Training to be efficient hosts


As part of its corporate social responsibility, MATTA has also introduced its MATTA-SLDN (National Dual Training System) Apprentice Programme. Launched last year, it is aimed to bring new workforce into the tourism industry.

TRAINING is grossly lacking in the travel sector, and it will remain that way until major stakeholders such as government agencies, educational institutions, training providers and travel industry players are prepared to make paradigm shifts.

And it would have to start with the fundamentals, such as the definition of tourism and hospitality.
