WHEN I heard the news early this month about the Kelantan state government offering their services to help Muslim men take another wife, I was utterly shocked.
Newspapers and online news portals quoted the Kelantan State Family Development, Welfare and People’s Wellbeing committee chairperson Mumtaz Md Nawi as saying the state government would help men who wanted to practice polygamy in order to encourage the birth of more Muslim children.
