Help but don’t expect anything in return


THE writer of “Courtesy should be our second nature” (The Star, Nov 26), Qistina Zainudin, when visiting George Town recently, wondered why she had bothered to hold the door of a 7-Eleven outlet for a man with an arm in a sling who was busy with his phone and hence did not acknowledge her help with a nod or a word of “thanks”.

She opines that it doesn’t hurt anyone to say “Thank you” and manners should be second nature to everyone.
