A reason cited for the waning interest in science and or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects among our secondary school and pre-University students is the poor teaching conducted in classrooms and laboratories.
There are still science teachers who are enthusiastic and ready to give their best in imparting knowledge and skills to their charges. Sadly, they are the minority.
