Ensure service quality

I WOULD like to echo John De Souza’s call in “Going beyond the scope of duty” (The Star, Nov 16), for local council officers to duly carry out their responsibilities entrusted to them.

Although I have a few friends in various government departments, I still have to say that (except on rare occasions) most of my experiences with government officers were quite disappointing.
