EXPERTS have continued to declare at national landslide seminars (past and present) that it is impossible to prevent landslides except to take preventive and mitigation measures.
Over the years, there have been numerous cases of slope failures and landslide incidents in this country, and the latest – the landslide at the 52nd kilometre of the Karak Highway last week – has again raised debate over finding an innovative and integrated approach to resolving the issue.
