We all need skills in first aid

I REFER to the report “Woman killed in snatch theft bid” (The Star, Nov 6). The death of this innocent victim is not only shocking but sad too because it could have been prevented.

The immediate response for any snatch theft victim is to hold on to the handbag as though the entire worldly belongings are inside the bag. All the person has to do to avoid further trauma is to let go of the bag. On the other hand, snatch thieves could become bolder if all of their victims just let go.
