Double parking keeps getting worse

WHILE parking in a non-parking areas is bad enough, some drivers are bold enough to double park their vehicles.

Such an inconsiderate and indifferent attitude causes traffic to be obstructed.

Wheel clamping, towing away vehicles and higher fines do not seem to deter such drivers. Such offences are now becoming rampant.

You see this daily at the Pulau Tikus market in Penang.

Drivers would double park and go to do their marketing.

At the Penang airport recently, the driver of a BMW car (pix) just double parked his vehicle and went to the arrival hall.

From the picture, it can be seen that vehicles are either parked or waiting on the left side of the road which is a no parking area.

When the photo was taken, it was just after the arrival of the evening flight from Hong Kong and that flight was almost full.

Imagine the situation with the arrival of about 300 passengers at the same time.

In both situations, there were no enforcement personnel around. The authorities must step up enforcement efforts, otherwise, with such a “tidak apa” attitude it will become worse.
