Reducing loss from traffic jams

AT last, an authoritative report from the World Bank stating that road congestion in Malaysia results in losses of RM20bil annually and shaves off 1% to 1.8% of our economic growth.

Many of our highways are operating in excess of their built capacity but there is neither concerted nor urgent efforts to expand their capacities. Yet, unbelievably, we are looking at increasing the rates for the tolled highways throughout the country.
