Still hope for English language

I REFER to Dr K.H. Sng’s grim picture of the future of English in his letter “English will surely die a slow death” (The Star, June 17).

It will be a sad day indeed if English truly dies, as predicted by Dr Sng. What a waste. It was a gift from God through the British colonial masters who unselfishly gave us the language.
