DURING heavy traffic along highways it is not uncommon to see some motorists using the emergency lane to breeze past the long line of vehicles inching their way along the designated lanes of the highway. When they encounter an obstruction on the emergency lane, they force their way back into the main lanes.
These errant motorists assume it is their right to weave in and out between the emergency lane and the highway proper.
