I AGREE with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, “Wee: Focus on non-Malays first” (The Star, April 17), that Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) should focus on non-Malay Malaysians first when it comes to Malay language proficiency.

DBP was established to improve and standardise the grammar and usage of the Malay language in Malaysia.
