I REFER to the report “SPAD may reduce number of express bus firms” (The Star, May 5).
The proliferation of bus companies came about when the then Commercial Vehicle Licencing Board, under the Entrepreneur Development Ministry, gave more weightage to the developing entrepreneurship rather than an efficient public transportation system.
